High Dynamic Range
The dynamic range can be described as the ratio between the brightest and darkest parts of a scene.
Many of the scenes captured with 360 panoramas have a Dynamic Range well beyond the capabilities of any given camera. To compensate for this, we may shoot multiple exposures of the same scene and then blend together these images to maintain as much detail as possible in the shadows and highlights.
The 'tonemapped' image above is a combination of the three others - Providing a perfect blend of detail.
